As he celebrates his 76th birthday, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to give him more time to execute his plans. He made the plea, today, after a special parade that the guards brigade of the Nigerian army organised for him. He called on Nigerians to continue to pray for him and the country at large, charging them to continue to show more understanding of his administration’s policies aimed at transforming the nation. “ Nigerians should continue to pray for me and understand my intentions and give me time ,” he said, while adding that the government would continue to remind Nigerians of its achievements in the last three and half years.

Update:: The Speaker of Zamfara House of Assembly, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, says that over 133,000 Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) have yet to be claimed by prospective voters in Zamfara State. Rikiji, who is also the Chairman of the state government’s Committee on Voters’ Mobilisation, said this on Monday in a statement in Gusau. In the statement signed by Alhaji Lawal Liman, the Secretary of the committee and state APC Chairman, Rikiji described the situation as very unfortunate. The speaker bemoaned the situation in which over 133,000 PVCs had yet to be claimed by prospective voters in spite of the fact that the 2019 general elections were fast approaching. News:::Tanker With 33,000 Litres of Petrol Loses Control in Ogun

Update::   The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps in Sango-Ota, Ogun, said danger was averted on Saturday when a tanker laden with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit lost control at Ilo-Awela, Toll-Gate. Mr Adekunle Ajibade, the Sango-Ota Zonal Commander of TRACE, told reporters in Ota that the accident happened at 4.06pm. Ajibade said that the Mack tanker, with registration number FKJ 913XD,  was heading for Lagos when it lost control due to brake failure and crossed the road divider to hit an LT vehicle marked EKY 748 TN. He said that only the two vehicles were involved in the accident, adding that the driver of the LT was injured. “A serious disaster that could have claimed so many lives was averted through the intervention of the Almighty God,” he said. Update:: A military court in Ethiopia has sentenced 66 soldiers to between five and 14 years in prison for marching on the residence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in October. The government said the soldiers were asking for a pay rise but Mr Abiy later insisted they had wanted to kill him. "These sentences delivered today will serve as lessons," prosecutor Cap Hailemariam Mamo told reporters. The defendants' lawyer said he would lodge appeals for a few suspects.   One defendant was sentenced to 14 years in prison, while 65 others were given jail terms ranging from five to 13 years, for "violation of military ethics", Col Meshesha Areda, head of the military tribunals directorate, said quoted by Reuters news agency. The 66 were among 200 soldiers in fatigues and red berets who marched to the prime minister's office in the capital, Addis Ababa.
