The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, has, Tuesday, suspended the over two-months old strike it embarked upon since last year’s December 12 over the failure of the federal government to implement the agreements it reached with her in 2017. The agreement was to implement the recommendations of the 2014 NEEDS assessment which recommended the increase of funding to the polytechnics. The ASUP President, Usman Dutse, announced the suspension of the strike on Tuesday during a press briefing in Abuja. According to him, the union “resolved to suspend the industrial action on the conditions that government commits to a reviewed memorandum of Action to solidify the resolutions and ensure its full implementation, failing which the union shall resume the action at its discretion.”

Update:: Another ritualist den was uncovered along Iwo road in Ibadan, Oyo state on Monday, February 11th.  An eyewitness said the killers den located along Iwo road, was uncovered by a resident of the area who just bought a piece of land around the newly built road safety station in Iwo road. According to the story, the new owner had gone to clear the bush on the land when himself and those who went to assist him discovered a secluded portion where they found the remains of persons that have been killed on the land. Among the remains of those found was that of a pupil of the Ayepe community school.   The police were immediately alerted and investigations have since commenced.  Female under wears and other shanties, which looked like charms, littered the tunnel area, fueling suspicion that nefarious activities were going on in the area before the discovery. Update:: The complainant therefore pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage forthwith, saying that there was no more love between him and his wife, one Juliana. Juliana, 31, however, denied all the allegations, pleading with the court not to dissolve the union.
