Atiku, PDP sweep FCT cities in landslide victory

Results coming from many units in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) indicate that the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are in clear lead in the Presidential and National Assembly Elections. Our correspondent who were stationed in some of the polling units in the metropolis, report that PDP’s Atiku Abubakar defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC in the FCT cities. At various polling units in Nyanya, Kugbo, Jikwoyi and environs, PDP won the APC with wide margins. At the Polling Unit 001, Orozo Primary school Atiku clinched 1,375 votes and APC 308 votes in the presidential elections: at the polling unit 009A in Kugbo, PDP won the presidential election with 483 votes and APC 84. At the 006 polling unit also in Jikwoyi primary school, PDP led the presidential elections with 89 and APC 15, and at the 001 polling unit, PDP won with 159 and APC 6. Kogi: Melaye floors Adeyemi in Mopamuro LGA

Update:: Mr Dino Melaye, a senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the highest votes in Mopamuro Local Government Area, Kogi west senatorial zone. Melaye is seeking reelection for the second term into the red chamber of the national assembly, with his toughest rival, Mr Smart Adeyemi of the APC. Mr Ibrahim Ismaila, the INEC Collation Officer of Mopamuro LGA, announced the interim results at the collation centre in INEC LG office in Mopa at about 3: 20 a.m on Sunday. According to Ismaila, the PDP senatorial candidate, Melaye won 5112 votes, while his closest rival Smart Adeyemi of APC got 3658 votes, ADC 784 and SDP 26 votes out of the 9717 valid votes cast. There were 336 rejected votes, making total votes cast to be 10055. In the House of Representatives, the PDP also beat APC with 3703 votes. The APC got 3157 votes and ADC 2 609 votes. INCLUSIVITY: France Ban The Words "FATHER" And "MOTHER" In Schools To Help Gay Parents

Update:: In the wake of gender equality and same-sex marriage, schools in France will now be unable to refer to a child’s parents as their “mother” or “father” on documents, instead, the titles will be replaced with “parent 1” and “parent 2,” so as to accommodate gay couples.   The amendment was passed in parliament as part of the country’s Schools of Trust law and aims to reduce the discrimination faced by same-sex parents. “To prevent discrimination, school enrolment, class registers, parental authorisations and all other official forms involving children must mention only Parent 1 and Parent 2,” the amendment reads.
