News:::::President Buhari's Cloning: We Have To Take The Allegation Seriously- Wole Soyinka Declares

Nobel Laureate and iconic playwright, Professor Wole Soyinka, has spoken out about the report making the rounds about dead and cloned President Muhammadu Buhari.
The 84-year-old man from Abeokuta, Ogun State explained the need to take the allegation seriously saying he expected President Buhari to do something beyond repudiating the claims during his recent visit to Poland to attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference for 2018.
While in Poland, President Buhari had denied claims that he was dead and cloned, affirming that he is himself.
Absconded leader of the proscribed separatist group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu originated the claims late 2017, claiming Nigeria is being ruled by a Buhari dead-ringer called Jubril Aminu from Sudan.
Soyinka was addressing a cross section of audience at Freedom Park in an event marking the 70th anniversary of human rights and worldwide reading for press freedom in memory of Jamal Khashoggi.
He also stressed on the need to take the issue of stolen identity with seriousness. 
He said, “Recently, we have a situation in Nigeria and that is the issue of cloning President Muhammadu Buhari. We have people who have taken that issue seriously.
“These were people that one can never believe to accept such considering their level of intelligence.
“When Buhari went to Poland, I said what a coincidence because I hope while he was there, he will be able to sort-out his identity and there will be a report on the return of his identity.
“Poland appears to be the centre for Nigerians settlers with stolen identity.”
Soyinka, who also cried out that his identity was stolen on Facebook in Poland, said upon discovery that his identity was being used in Poland, he visited the country and demanded that the page using his identity on Facebook be pulled down.
He added, “But he (operator of the business) refused, claiming that he has authority to do that.
In my name, this fellow sells and buys things which I don’t even use.”

News::::Nigeria Emerges Third ‘Most Terrorised Country’ For Fourth Consecutive Year – Report

Update:: The 2018 ranking on terrorism is out and Nigeria, for the fourth consecutive year, occupies the third position among the countries worst hit by terrorism, globally, because of the activities of Boko Haram and herdsmen. Apart from 2014 when it was ranked fourth, Nigeria has remained in the unenviable third position in the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) ranking since 2015. In the latest report released on Wednesday, Iraq, a country in the Middle-East, is ranked first, a position it has held since 2014. Afghanistan has ranked second since 2013. Syria and Pakistan are ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Others among the top 10 countries worst hit by terrorism in 2017 are Somalia (sixth), India (seventh), Yemen (eighth), Egypt (ninth), and Philippines (10th). News:::Nigeria, Russia sign treaty on legal assistance in criminal matters

Update:: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Nigeria and Federation of Russia have signed a treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters. The Ministry’s Spokesperson George Edokpa said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja. The ministry explained that the Treaty was negotiated in 2009 to enhance collaboration and cooperation between the two countries in the administration of criminal justice and signed in Moscow, Russia on Nov. 27, 2018. ”The Treaty was signed on behalf of Nigeria by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, while Russian Acting Minister of Justice, Mr Oleg Plokhoy, signed on behalf of his country. ”The Treaty on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matter is aimed at providing the necessary mechanism for cooperation in the fight against crime and criminal related matters. ”These include terrorism, as well as to counter every form of support to terrorism,” it stated.
