Israel strikes Iranian targets in Syria - military

Israel's military says it has started hitting Iranian targets in Syria.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says its operation is against the Quds Force - elite units of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
It provided no details. But there are reports of strikes around the Syrian capital Damascus early on Monday.
Syrian media say air defences have repelled "an Israeli aerial attack". On Sunday the IDF said it had intercepted a rocket over the Golan Heights.

Syria and Pakistan are ranked fourth and fifth respectively. Others among the top 10 countries worst hit by terrorism in 2017 are Somalia (sixth), India (seventh), Yemen (eighth), Egypt (ninth), and Philippines (10th). Update:: A pregnant woman was sliced open from ‘hip to hip’ by her neighbour who had bore the intention to steal her baby, Metro UK reports. Savanna Greywind, from Fargo, North Dakota, had been eight months pregnant with her first child when she was lured by Brooke Crews to her flat upstairs on August 19 2017. The 22-year-old was then pushed to the floor, before Crews performed an amateur cesarean on her, taking her baby from her womb. Crews later told a courtroom that Savanna woke up during the horrific attack before falling back unconscious once again. She later died due to the amount of blood lost. Crews had lied to her boyfriend William Hoehn, 32, that she was pregnant in a bid to stop their relationship from ending. News:::Nigeria, Russia sign treaty on legal assistance in criminal matters

Update:: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Nigeria and Federation of Russia have signed a treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters. The Ministry’s Spokesperson George Edokpa said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja. The ministry explained that the Treaty was negotiated in 2009 to enhance collaboration and cooperation between the two countries in the administration of criminal justice and signed in Moscow, Russia on Nov. 27, 2018. ”The Treaty was signed on behalf of Nigeria by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, while Russian Acting Minister of Justice, Mr Oleg Plokhoy, signed on behalf of his country. ”The Treaty on Legal Assistance in Criminal Matter is aimed at providing the necessary mechanism for cooperation in the fight against crime and criminal related matters. ”These include terrorism, as well as to counter every form of support to terrorism,” it stated.
