Politics:::2019 Elections: PDP’s Call on INEC Chair, Police IG to Resign Suspicious – APC

Image
Update:: Below is a Press Statement from the All Progressives Congress, APC made available to PoliticsNGR; We are amused by the latest utterances of the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus calling on both the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Yakubu Mahmoud and the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Idris Ibrahim to resign on account of the PDP’s baseless suspicions ahead of the 2019 General Elections. It is a pity that the once boisterous PDP, having undermined the country for 16 years through mindless undemocratic actions, has now become a caricature of a political party. This latest outburst is yet another reminder of how the PDP government serially abused state institutions in the pursuit of selfish political and economic interests. PDP is now being haunted by its sordid past and the ruinous party is now scampering from its own shadow. It is sad that the PDP hounds have continued to take Nigerians for granted, thinking ...

Pitt and Jolie announced their separation in September 2016 after two years of marriage and 11 years together. Three of their children are their biological children, and the other three are adopted. “A custody arrangement was agreed two weeks ago, and has been signed by both parties and the judge,” Jolie’s lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, said in a statement carried by several US celebrity news outlets including TMZ. “The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial,” she said. The couple had been set for a trial on December 4 — the deal means they will not battle in court. Jolie originally wanted to have sole custody of the children, while Pitt asked for shared custody. The terms of the agreement are confidentia...

Foreign News::::More Argentines develop thirst for learning Chinese

Image
Update:: Joaquin Calles became interested in learning Chinese when he first picked up the classic Chinese philosophical book Tao Te Ching more than a decade ago. However, scant additional information was available in Spanish on the school of thought in this work. Curious to learn more, Calles decided to study Chinese so he could further explore ancient Chinese philosophy. Learning the language fascinated him. "I found Chinese characters very interesting because they are very much related to the culture," Calles said. "For example, the Chinese word for medicine, yao , in its traditional form is related to music and herbs. It implies a connection with food and mood," he said. Calles had to find another school when the Language University Center canceled the Chinese class due to insufficient demand. He found another venue and four years later gained a degree in Chinese translation. To improve his Chinese, Calles enrolled with Chinese Language Education in Beijin...

Foreign News:::Trump rejects Paris accord, but his diplomats are still negotiating

Image
Update:: Next week in Poland, a discreet delegation of American diplomats will settle in for two weeks of international climate negotiations along with their European, Chinese and other counterparts they've mixed with for years. The fact that Donald Trump announced in June 2017 that the US would withdraw from the Paris climate accord signed in 2015 by his predecessor, Barack Obama, has not ended US participation in continuing climate talks. The US pullout won't take effect until 2020. In the meantime, the Americans are not leaving their seats empty and remain heavily involved at the technical, rather than political, level. "Among developed countries, the US is hardly isolated on those issues," said Alden Meyer, director of strategy and policy at the Union of Concerned Scientists, noting that the US has maintained a united front with Europe and other rich nations when it comes to technical subjects that are indispensable to the effective rollout of the Paris deal...

Tiffany is happy she has so far been able to keep things with Michael under the radar," explains Page Six's source. "But she introduced him to her family at Thanksgiving, and he comes across as...

Meek Mill's CHAMPIONSHIPS album has some words for Kanye West. And, no, they don't come from the Philly rapper. Shortly after the project hit streaming services, fans began dissecting lines in the "What's Free" track featuring Rick Ross and JAY-Z. Hov can be heard spitting a number of lines that reference Kanye's recent support of Donald Trump and his affinity for the MAGA hat: "No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye/They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA/I ain’t one of these house n***as you bought/My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours/My spo—c’mon, man—my route better of course" Though they were once considered a hip-hop power duo, JAY and Kanye's bromance has deteriorated over the past several years. News::'Buhari Is Taking Worst Possible Military Advice'- S'African Mercenary Speaks On Boko Haram

Image
Update:: 'Buhari Is Taking Worst Possible Military Advice'- S'African Mercenary Speaks On Boko Haram One of the reasons for the Nigeria’s unsolved Boko haram conundrum is the “worst possible military advice” President Muhammadu Buhari has been receiving for his advisors, Eeben Barlow, a South African mercenary who was involved with the training of Nigerian soldiers in the North-East, has said. According to Barlow, on becoming President, Buhari and his advisors resisted an ongoing three-phase campaign strategy to degrade and destroy Boko Haram in Borno State, but they were quite happy to allow the Armed Forces to receive both substandard training and the incorrect equipment provided by both foreign governments and their Private Military Companies (PMCs) — along with the worst possible ‘military advice’. Writing on his Facebook timeline, Barlow urged the public not to blame the Armed Forces when poor political decisions result in the deaths of people, saying:“North-east...

Flash:::::Ranking of the 37 states in Nigeria (Most Educated to Least Educated)

Image
Update:: The tag of ‘Most educated state’ in Nigeria is usually an emotional subject. Everybody with an iota of pride would want to claim that crown for their own state. This is one discussion that is never-ending. Many contend that a table listing the most educated states must consider all variables before making a final conclusion. According to this school of thought, basing your argument on say, the state with the highest number of professors would produce a different result with a ranking based on the number of tertiary institutions in a state. But given that records keeping in Nigeria are notoriously bad, the best criteria for this sort of ranking must be easily verifiable. And the raw stats must be accepted as it is. That is why this ranking is based on the senior secondary school examination, SSCE. The examination organized by the West African Examination Council, WAEC, is a national exam and the tests are standardized irrespective of state. The marking scheme too is st...
